Dear Friends and Family:
Joelle has made great progress since his heart transplant in April 2003. We thought you would like to know of his high school track and field success. He has graduated from San Jose's Teresa High in San and is enrolled at De Anza College also in San Jose.
It's a celebration of God's goodness.

About Us
After searching several sites on rare heart conditions and coming up empty on something even closely related to Joelle's ailment, I decided to create a site that would allow me to increase the chances of helping my son as well as raise awareness to the increasing issue of childhood cardiomyopathy.
His condition is called Anomalous Left Coronary Growing From The Right Coronary. In the simplest of terms, one of Joelle's coronary arteries was growing between his aorta and pulmonary artery. It is a birth defect that went unnoticed for 14 years. His defect, if it had been left untreated, was fatal. As his doctor put it, " normally the only time you diagnose this condition is during an autopsy".
I, along with my family and friends, thank God every day that Joelle was the "exception" and not the "rule".

Note: |
Joelle's condition worsened since the start of this website. His heart continued to weaken. And, approximately 9 months from his diagnosis, he received a heart transplant. |
This site is a work in progress. My first responsibility is to my family. Hopefully each time you return you see more - which is only possible due to the love and support of my family who is always there to pick up the slack when I am with Joelle.
